Help us choose BAND PHOTOS and more!!!
Wow! This week has flown by. We’re wrapping up the 1st week of Beyond Rock 2011 Session One, and we have seen and heard some AMAZING things from our campers (and even our staff)!
We’ve started having band photo shoots! You can vote on your favorite on our Facebook page. Just click “Like” on the photo you like most from each band. The one who gets the most votes online and at camp will be used at that band’s promotional photo!
As always, keep your eyes glued to this blog (and of course our Facebook and Twitter) for updates, photos, video, recordings and stories from camp!
And don’t forget - there’s still a few spaces left for session 2, which starts on 7/25!
Things are kicking into high gear here at Beyond Rock headquarters. The whole staff has gathered to set up the band rooms, restring the guitars, and brainstorm ways to make 2011 the most rocking year yet!
You still have a few days to get your registrations and scholarship applications in, so don’t hesitate to get in touch!

We’ve saved a few scholarship spaces for students who might not otherwise be able to attend our camp. We believe that music can truly change the world, and that all children deserve access to these special programs.
If you know a child who you believe would benefit from a Beyond Rock scholarship, please call or write to us ASAP! Tell us about the child/children, and what makes them special.
We also have group scholarships available for children from kid-oriented or non-profit organizations. Please get in touch for more information!
We can’t wait to hear from you!

Happy Music Monday, everyone!
A month or so back I (Jillian) got the awesome opportunity to hang out with Matt & Kim as they shot their new music video, “Block After Block.”
Matt & Kim are one of the best bands I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. They have amazing stage presence. Kim is the ultimate rocker chick - an inspiration to female musicians like myself - and always has a huge smile on her face during shows. I once saw her walk out onto the crowd. That isn’t a typo, she actually walked ON the audience’s outstretched arms, and danced while they held her up. Never to be undone, Matt soon leaped into the crowd as well. Even close quarters can’t keep Matt from flying through the air, not even a subway car, which you can see in the video above! I spoke with Matt about how comfortable and happy they seem on stage, and he told me the secret is that they love what they do - and couldn’t hide that if they tried!
Check out “Block After Block” above!
